Conference Client Review: Peter’s Take on our Core Model & Indicator

Peter’s Take on Trade View’s Core Model & Indicator

Trade View client Peter recently travelled from Lithgow, New South Wales, to join us for a two-day Core Model session at the Trade View office.

Having been part of the Trade View community since 2017 and attended several Algo Trading Conferences, Peter has seen many of our models, workshops and trading concepts develop over the years.

During the session, Peter worked with our team to explore how the Core Framework operates, how it can be applied to existing models and how the indicator helps traders better understand changing market conditions.

A Step Up from Previous Conference Models

When asked how the Core Framework compares with previous conference models, Peter described it as a significant step forward.

Rather than operating as a standalone trading model, the Core Framework provides an overarching structure that can support and improve other strategies.

It allows traders to place existing conference models and algorithms inside a broader framework, helping them better understand when and how those models should operate.

Understanding the Framework Step by Step

Peter explained that the Core Model can appear complex when first introduced because it includes several different concepts.

However, by reviewing the framework step by step and moving through the charts one trading day at a time, the logic becomes much easier to understand.

With the indicator displayed directly on the chart, traders can clearly visualise how the framework interprets different market conditions and how those conditions change over time.

Identifying Different Market Regimes

One of the main benefits Peter highlighted was the ability to identify market regimes.

The Core Indicator can help traders recognise whether a market is trending, ranging or moving through a mean-reversion environment.

This information can then be used to decide which trading strategies or algorithms may be more suitable for the current market environment.

Instead of expecting one model to perform consistently in every condition, the framework helps traders understand when certain models may have a stronger or weaker opportunity to perform.

A Comprehensive Trading Framework

Peter also discussed the scale and complexity involved in developing the Core Framework.

While individual trading models can be created through workshops and model-building sessions, he explained that designing a complete framework of this size would be extremely difficult without the experience, research and development behind it.

For Peter, the Core Model’s value comes from its ability to bring multiple concepts together into one comprehensive structure.
